cheap confession

I BROKE DOWN.
went to whole foods. I bought celery, a carrot, a piece of ginger, 5 lb. of brown rice, an apple, 6 eggs, and T.P... 23 dollars. I did it because... I wanted to buy short grain brown rice in bulk. and I was just gonna get that... but then I didn't feel like making another stop... and I didn't go to Berkeley Bowl cause I didn't want to deal with crowds and parking. I guess I'll have the rice for a while... I guess I did get a lot of rice. man, living is expensive. On the upside I bought a bag of coffee at Grocery Outlet the other day for four dollars and I'm brewing that in the morning instead of going out, and BONUS it has an image of a lion cradling a black sheep on the package. On the downside that means I have no reason to get dressed and get out of the house in the morning but hopefully a new motivation will descend upon me. like, a job... but I only sort of want a job.

We had such an amazing time in L.A... now I want to move there. I'm going to save every penny to move.... plus I'm broke from too much fun... which is the best reason to be broke of course. so, I am starting a new category of this blog entity called cheap crap. In other words free fun plus cheap food. I can no longer afford to be fancy. but check this out:

morgan's mom bought him this instant miso soup:shredded dumpster yam hash with seaweed sesame rice seasoning:this lettuce was purchased and the cuke is from grocery outlet. the tomatoes are from the dumpster. vinagrette with mayo is administered.

now we're going to make collages with things from morgans house... more later cheapies.

I was eating some fresh baby ginger (like an apple) and something about it made me happy and I realized that Spring is coming. hot pink ginger so fresh you can eat it with the skin on, so fresh, it has an inner light that shines outward. I didn't really understand linda because her face only existed in stacks of shitty thrift store records with barbara streisand, they were like roommates at the goodwill.
