It's funny
how it never occurs to you when you leave the house that you might be having so much fun you won't go home for a few days. It's funny when this was the outfit choice you made before leaving the house. I wore this dress for three days.

Statement of Intention
volcanoland is
kids running away with a bandana on a stick
mice peeking through blinds
weird library movies from a childhood of deprivation
leggings and tights hand me downs from big girls
strange wood paneling, sounds absorbed by carpet and amber light
and screaming at your parents
and being alone
and making your friends your family
remembering childhood
the colors, the rules, the other kids
re- interpreting everything you have ever wanted
and having it
another summer in the sun
another bart simpson skateboard
spinning creeping spastic dancing like you have lost your marbles
when you're so lonesome you could howl like a wolf in the dark
not sure if anyone will rescue you
but chanting to the freak in the sky in the hopes that they will

Best Coast
Best Coast is a band that I like a lot lately. It's got Bethany from Pocahaunted and Bobb Bruno of Bobb Bruno. I like these other bands a lot too. Dreamy summertime echoey girl singing like trapped in timetravelling, a more natural version of out of body glitching like when you do nitrous. They play a lot of shows but they're all in LA. I'm having an itchy immature summer and it feels great.
Cicciolina
Cicciolina is a hungarian born Italian porn star turned parliament member. She was married to Jeff Koons and he made beautiful sculptures of thme having sex for the exhibition "Made in Heaven". There is a book about her that is pretty hard to find but looks great. She also makes great funny pop songs that you can listen to on her website including one about San Francisco- "it is a city of love, of gays, of pollution of rats, of AIDS!!! And I want to go!!!" She is the weirdest combo of anna nicole smith and daryl hannah. Her eyebrows are insanely low and she almost always wears flowers or some other funny silky glactic headgear. I would love to have a full body poster of her in my house.

My friend Kara had a birthday over the weekend and I made her a tape:
Carol asked me to make her a tape and this is what I made her:
