Went on a trip to Santa Cruz With Gabe on Saturday. Wandered to an apartment complex he used to live in, went to Pergolesi where some very nice barista corked two bottles of wine for us. had a bottle in the grass by the water. A lackluster peanutbutter cookie, greasy folded in half slices of hawaiian pizza and free beer from the very generous Jorge. Played horse shoes at a barbecue. Saw my best friend from middle school. White chocolate lavendar truffles, a long walk to the park for something that didn't happen, up a spiral ramp across a highway overpass. The heat from the sun making my black pants stick to my skin, saw a blown out bubble in my tire, got a new one on my credit card. dancing to E-40's "sprinkle me" in this kid's immaculate purple black and grey Basquiat themed bedroom. Met some very awesome people. slept in a house with a parrot and went to breakfast at Cafe Brasil, black beans and poached eggs. watched two seconds of Elvira before passing out on a pile of sleeping bags. nothing happened in that order. I brought my camera, which let me take one very nice palm tree picture before shutting off. What a good trip.

Partying at the Gates of Hell... Bogus Adventures in Modesto
Me and Morgan went to Modesto to thrift and it was so fucking wack. Creepy redfaced fat rusty pig boys whispering fag in our ears flipping us off in a screechy pickup... women with painted faces discussing cigarette price chages at Valero, a town called Salida which I think means exit lies right next door to the town which means "modest". We drove twenty miles to find a hollow aluminum shed full of dusty deals... 49 cents for fucked up clothes that sucked. They gave me a nice seafoam green and denim blue floral bag for my cropped floral cardigan... why did I buy it, cause I wanted a souvenir to prove that the trip wasn't a waste, that the central valley isn't a black hole, that it's an underappreciated gem responsible for the poetry of Joan Didion and my mother, who climbed water towers to watch for enemy war planes in the 1950's when she was in high school, dreaming dairy queen dreams and feeling jealousy toward her sister who found two bucks behind the toilet once. The windmills follow the curves of the hills, spinning fast and ominous, and you feel very small and scared of them, as you are in the darkness of the valley, feeling encircled, almost ganged up on by hoards of mega lacerators. The clouds are black on the top sides and white glowing under belly, and the girls at wal- mart work their magic on you, informing you about one dollar rentals of popular movies, and it seems there is no room in her sentence to tell her you don't live by here or near any wal mart at all... the closest one is near the airport. It seems like a place where you might pick out a new shade of hairdye for some entertainment or get married, or drive a hundred miles an hour on the freeway. If you have ever in your life wondered who is enjoying all of the wonderful antidepressants you hear about, it must be modesto, where people would never think that their lethargy is caused by Carl's junior chicken stars and they don't want to get up in the morning because nothings new, Lady GaGa is still number one on the radio, T.I. is number two, and Kanye is number three, though depending on whose calling in what requests, the trifecta may re-arrange itself throughout the six weeks that the songs reign supreme, but I digress... orchards forever, that make your mind so blank that you are scrolling through a list of fruits and nuts, deciding what kind of tree is repeating itself into such an organized forest along the roads which are disorienting and sometimes deceptive, twenty minute drives toward what you thought was something, abruptly dead ending. Signs tell you depressing things about droughts and deltas. Modesto is the biggest empty that ever was.

SEE YOU IN HEAVEN
Grass Widow!!!!
They're the Best!!!! look How effin cute they are! Me and Kickball Katy were driving around talking about boys and listening to their new album on the way to Vallejo. AAAH! it freaked me out it spoke to my heart so hard. Got some weeeeird cool clothes and the Vivian Girls got tour tattoos of cactuses. I thought about getting something but, like, yeah right. But what a fucking bogusley amazing weekend... The Vivian Girl's set was better than ever, and they got to stay for a few days, I love all of them so fucking much. I also went to Alese's Bday party, played some crazy crazy racket sport game with hula hoops, four balls at once and roller skates. Bro'ed down with cool boyzz from San Mateo, had girl time with Shannon and Katie... then I went to SF and hung out in Banana Zone or whatever the house was called in the excelsior. Stayed up late there with Cassie, Breakfast at boogaloos with my favorite Matthew Momchilover and some cute dude that smiled a lot and had a tattoo of pizza on his arm. Me and Matt started discussing our gothic Disneyland adventure this weekend, and everyone listened to me talk about astrology for like half of breakfast, everyone at the table was so entraced, it was weird. Anyway it ruled and made me feel young again which is a bizarre thing to say, but I keep getting stuck in the donut of circular energy that is the bay area. fuck this bummer place. LA sunshine take me away!

How to stumble in to the free and easy way of being cheap
OOK
NEW CATEGORY FOR THIS BLOG_ CHEAP CRAP, CHEAP THRILLS
We had such an amazing time in L.A... now I want to move there. I'm going to save every penny to move.... plus I'm broke from too much fun... which is the best reason to be broke of course. so, I am starting a new category of this blog entity called cheap crap. In other words free fun plus cheap food. I can no longer afford to be fancy. but check this out:
morgan's mom bought him this instant miso soup:
shredded dumpster yam hash with seaweed sesame rice seasoning:
this lettuce was purchased and the cuke is from grocery outlet. the tomatoes are from the dumpster. vinagrette with mayo is administered.
now we're going to make collages with things from morgans house... more later cheapies.

Alese
This cardigan came from the tides of the flea market, when everyone leaves the crap nobody bought in a big parking lot anonymously. it's reversible. and it's for a baby actually. An ancient asian woman was going in for it (it was in a dumpster) and I swooped in and caught it right under her nose
The crocheted white top came from my mother in law. It had a lining attached to it. I cut it out.
The blue slip underneath was given to me by my best friend when I was thirteen. I wore it by itself with angel wings for Halloween that year.
The pantyhose were found in the bottom of a box of scarves at a thrift store. There was a very unflattering picture of a woman on the package.
The shoes were bought with a Christmas present gift card to Target.
The jewelry is from a thrift store grab bag. I didn't see the earrings or necklace in the bag when I bought it. They were a free prize bitch.
The lace on my head came from a giant spool of lace that Jessica McClintock donated to Urban Ore.
This bag has plastic bubble beads glued onto it and I pick them off when I'm nervous
